Ryan Jones

Managing director/ Design manager


Ryan studied graphic design at college, before starting his working career as a gardener for Taylor & Tripp in Winchester. After a year Ryan further developed his passion of gardening and design and started his own business venture. Having completed training at Sparsholt College in chainsaw maintenance and cross cutting, Ryan set up his first business in Hampshire. He has a Diploma with distinction in garden design, is self taught in horticulture and is now a well established plantsman. He has extensive knowledge and is able to offer clients advice on planting schemes and landscape designs for interest throughout the year. His passion and enthusiasm for garden designing grew and he has now been trading successfully for over 20 years.


Ryan makes use of his graphic design qualification by designing and drawing creative and innovative garden projects. His team of gardeners are loyal and hard working, they also have an excellent understanding of horticulture and garden maintenance.

Chris Nicholson

Director


Chris started working for the business in 2008. He is passionate about his work and has a keen eye for detail. He has a broad horticultural understanding and advises clients about the ongoing care of completed gardens. Chris is responsible for all aspects of garden maintenance and construction and prides himself on accurate and methodical approach. When maintaining gardens, Chris manages other team members efficiently and ensures that the work is carried out to the highest standard of workmanship.

Gregor Davies

Landscape Gardener


Gregor has worked for Oak Tree Landscapes on and off since 2007, whilst completing his Bsc in Zoology, ecology and conservation at Southampton University and now works for the business full time. Gregor is passionate and enthusiastic about all aspects of gardening, nature and the environment. Confident with a range of garden machinery, Gregor has worked on all aspects of landscaping projects, including paving, fencing and hedge cutting. He also has recent brush cutter and spraying certifications.

Mark Gooch

Landscape Gardener


Following 15 years experience in landscape gardening, Mark started working for Oak Tree Landscapes in 2019. Mark currently manages teams on landscaping and maintenance jobs, ensuring continued high standards. He has previously obtained a Diploma in Landscape practice (2004) and has worked on four Gold and Silver award winning gardens at the Chelsea Flower Show. Mark is also certified to use excavator, dumper and forklift, and has a knapsack spraying certification.

Jocelyn Jones

Horticulturalist


Jocelyn started working for the business in 2017. She has a passion for plants, wildlife and nature. Jocelyn comes from a family of horticulturalists and designers and thus has a deep knowledge based understanding of her work and a keen eye for detail. She is meticulous and thorough with all maintenance jobs and ensures our high standards of workmanship are continued. A key feature of her work is successful management of greenhouses and kitchen gardens.

Dominic Quincey

Horticulturalist


Dominic joined Oak Tree Landscapes in 2019 following a career change from his previous role as a school teacher. He also worked during school holidays as a gardener. He has a passion for gardening, plants and growing vegetables. Dominic has a developed horticultural skillset and is currently working on all aspects of garden maintenance.

Guy Steffell-Flint

Landscape Gardener


Guy joined Oak Tree Landscapes in February 2021 after completing an Apprenticeship at Sparsholt College. He also worked in the Horticulture Department at the college, as well as supervising students on their Work Experience tasks. Passionate about the outdoors, Guy’s been involved with various landscaping and horticultural projects. Including achieving a Diploma in Land Based Studies through Help For Heroes ‘Heritage Heroes’ in 2016, working with and helping war veterans. Guy is now continuing to broaden his skill set as part of the Oak Tree Landscapes team.

Gil Pearson

Horticulturalist


Gil joined Oak Tree Landscapes in May 2021 and brought with him 10 years of Horticulture experience including a comprehensive 3 year apprenticeship. The reason he chose Oak Tree Landscapes to progress his career was our existing team of mature horticulturalists and the opportunity to join a business that shares his passion for plants – which we certainly do! 

Josh Osgood

Horticulture Apprentice


In September 2021 we were delighted to welcome two new apprentices to the Oak Tree family! Dan and Josh are studying towards their Level 2 in Horticulture with Sparsholt college. Working primarily alongside Chris and the maintenance team they will be gaining experience in all areas of our business. 


Josh joins us from a local garden centre where he had already started to build up a good knowledge of plants and plant care, which he is now rapidly expanding.

Dan Reed

Horticulture Apprentice


Dan has previously gained four years retail experience plus experience outside in all weathers with the cadets – which will stand him in good stead for winter gardening!
